To me, portraits are much more than simply a likeness, they are an opportunity to capture a glimpse into the lives of the people around us. These people come to life on paper first, then canvas. I use perspective, composition and colour as tools to tell the story. My job as an artist is to simply translate the beauty so that we all might be inspired.
Angela was born in British Columbia, Canada, and comes from a multi-generational family of passionate artists. She started drawing as a child and completed her first commissioned portrait at 15. After 12 years of corporate experience as a Graphic Artist and Art Director for companies like Costco and RealNetworks, Angela started painting full-time.
Her work has been exhibited in juried shows in Anacortes, and Gig Harbor, Washington. Shortly after these shows, she gave birth to a son, in 2005. A stay-at-home mom during the day, Angela has been finding time to do her art and begin to show her work again. She is currently represented by the Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, Washington.
