To me, portraits are much more than simply a likeness, they are an opportunity to capture a glimpse into the lives of the people around us. These people come to life on paper first, then canvas. I use perspective, composition and colour as tools to tell the story. My job as an artist is to simply translate the beauty so that we all might be inspired.
Angela was born in British Columbia, Canada, and comes from a multi-generational family of passionate artists. She started drawing as a child and completed her first commissioned portrait at 15. Her 12 years of corporate experience as a Graphic Artist and Art Director for companies like Costco and RealNetworks have been invaluable to her sense of design and colour.
Her work has been exhibited in shows throughout Western Washington and British Columbia. She is currently represented by Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, Washington.
